Welcome in.
I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Kate and I resonate deeply with the words of Gloria Jean Watkins (bell hooks), who described love as a verb; an active, intentional practice of nurturing the growth of our own and others’ souls. Love, in this view, is rooted in care, commitment, knowledge, responsibility, respect, and trust. It’s not just a feeling or instinct, but a conscious choice and an ongoing set of skillful actions that support connection and well-being.
My work as a therapist is grounded in this understanding. I help clients build and strengthen their inner toolboxes - so they can love themselves more fully, and show up more wholeheartedly in relationship with others. When we choose to practice love in this way, we move toward a life that feels more alive, more connected, and more aligned with who we truly are.
Ways to work with me
Whether you're drawn to therapy for your relationship, for yourself, or seeking a nurturing space for your daughter, all of my offerings are rooted in the same essentials: genuine connection, non-judgement, reflective curiosity, and deep care.
Therapy
For couples who are ready to evolve their relationship into deeper intimacy and satisfaction, and individuals looking for support around issues like anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationships, parenting, as well as acute or complex trauma.
Therapy offers a place to slow down and listen inward.
Together, we’ll gently explore the patterns, pain points, and strengths that shape your life—so you can build steadier emotional ground, strengthen your voice and boundaries, and cultivate deeper connection with yourself and others.
This work meets you where you are, and gently invites you home.
Girls Group
A sacred space for girls to feel seen, supported, and rooted in who they are becoming.
Woven Roots is a nature-based social-emotional group for middle school girls and gender-expansive youth with female physiology.
Through ritual, play, embodiment, and creative expression, participants build resilience, confidence, and a stronger connection to their inner voice.
Our circles support girls in navigating the threshold of adolescence with grace, courage, and a sense of belonging.
Is this the right moment to come home to yourself?
Begin with a conversation—no cost, no pressure.

A bit more about me.
Reaching out for support is a powerful step. Finding the right therapist - someone you feel safe with - is essential. My hope is that what you read here helps you sense whether we might be a good fit.
I'm queer, neurodiverse, gender fluid, and a lifelong student of the plants and their medicine. I love to sing and play in the sea, forest, and mountains. I live on Coastal Miwok land in Mill Valley, CA, with my children, my beloved, and our cats. My ancestral roots trace back to Eastern and Northern Europe.
My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by lived experience as much as by training. Like many, I lost myself in long seasons of darkness and confusion. It was through contemplative practice, time in nature, and deep listening facilitated by master plants that I found my way back to myself - and, humbly, to this work.
Today, I strive to live with presence, curiosity, and reverence for relationship with our human and greater than human kin. I feel grateful to support others in doing the same.
I hold a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. I’m also a certified Holistic Birth Doula through The Matrona. My clinical and healing background includes Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychosynthesis, Hakomi, Sand Play, Dreamwork, DBT, Ecopsychology, and plant-taught ceremonial healing in the Song of Sophia shamanic lineage.

Honoring your lived experience—without asking you to explain it all.
As a white, queer, genderfluid, and neurodiverse therapist, I hold a deep commitment to anti-oppression, relational accountability, and sacred respect for difference. I actively examine how privilege, whiteness, and systemic harm shape both my lens and our shared space—and I welcome conversation about how those dynamics may show up between us.
If aspects of my identity don’t align with your lived experience, that’s okay. You deserve to feel safe and supported in this work. I’ll always honor your choice—and I’m happy to offer referrals if that feels more aligned.

No. As a licensed therapist, I do not prescribe. If we determine that psychiatric support might be helpful, I can refer you to a trusted provider.
