Welcome in.
I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Kate and I resonate deeply with the words of Gloria Jean Watkins (bell hooks), who described love as a verb; an active, intentional practice of nurturing the growth of our own and others’ souls. Love, in this view, is rooted in care, commitment, knowledge, responsibility, respect, and trust. It’s not just a feeling or instinct, but a conscious choice and an ongoing set of skillful actions that support connection and well-being.
My work as a therapist is grounded in this understanding. I help clients build and strengthen their inner toolboxes - so they can love themselves more fully, and show up more wholeheartedly in relationship with others. When we choose to practice love in this way, we move toward a life that feels more alive, more connected, and more aligned with who we truly are.

Ways to work with me
Whether you're drawn to therapy for your relationship or for yourself, all of my offerings are rooted in the same essentials: genuine connection, non-judgement, reflective curiosity, and deep care.
I specialize in therapy for high conflict couples, couples counseling for parents and individual counseling for those who are on a spiritual path.
Couples Therapy
For couples who are ready to evolve their relationship into deeper emotional and sexual intimacy and satisfaction, with support around issues like communication, infidelity, libido discrepancy, parenting, as well as grief and loss.
Couples therapy with me offers a place to slow down and unwind the negative patterns that keep us distant from one another. Through this we learn that conflict can be a feature of our relationships, not a bug - it’s an opportunity to learn, deepen, and grow with one another.
Individual Therapy
For individuals exploring a deeper connection to themselves and to Spirit, our work together can traverse the territories of anxiety, depression, addiction, grief and loss, prenatal/postpartum mental health, relationships, and acute or complex trauma.
I don’t see you as broken - I see your inner conflicts and together we can bring all your parts to the table so you have full access to your power, your wisdom, and your joy.
Is this the right moment to come home to yourself?
Begin with a conversation—no cost, no pressure.

A bit more about me.
Reaching out for support is a powerful step. Finding the right therapist - someone you feel safe with - is essential. My hope is that what you read here helps you sense whether we might be a good fit.
I'm queer, neurodiverse, and a lifelong student of the plants and their medicine. I love to sing and play in the sea, forest, and mountains. I live on Coastal Miwok land in Mill Valley, CA, with my children, my beloved, and our cats. My ancestral roots trace back to Eastern and Northern Europe.
My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by lived experience as much as by training. Like many, I lost myself in long seasons of darkness and confusion. It was through contemplative practice, time in nature, and deep listening facilitated by master plants that I found my way back to myself - and, humbly, to this work.
Today, I strive to live with presence, curiosity, and reverence for relationship with our human and greater than human kin. I feel grateful to support others in doing the same.
I hold a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. I’m also a certified Holistic Birth Doula through The Matrona. My clinical and healing background includes Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychosynthesis, Hakomi, Sand Play, Dreamwork, DBT, Ecopsychology, and plant-taught ceremonial healing in the Song of Sophia shamanic lineage.

Honoring your lived experience—without asking you to explain it all.
As a white, queer, genderfluid, and neurodiverse therapist, I hold a deep commitment to anti-oppression, relational accountability, and sacred respect for difference. I actively examine how privilege, whiteness, and systemic harm shape both my lens and our shared space—and I welcome conversation about how those dynamics may show up between us.
If aspects of my identity don’t align with your lived experience, that’s okay. You deserve to feel safe and supported in this work. I’ll always honor your choice—and I’m happy to offer referrals if that feels more aligned.

No. As a licensed therapist, I do not prescribe. If we determine that psychiatric support might be helpful, I can refer you to a trusted provider.
